COVID19 Critical
Care Consortium

The COVID-19 pandemic was a challenging time for most, but even more so for the frontline workers in hospitals and healthcare facilities around the world.

A fateful contact from a team of researchers and clinicians in Brisbane however helped to connect some of the dots through technology.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, clinicians struggled to find methods to treat patients. After setting up the COVID-19 Critical Care Consortium (COVID Critical) with The University of Queensland, researchers developed an app for clinicians to quickly access treatment and research data during critical moments.

IBM Consulting were able to support the design, development and deployment of the app on IBM Cloud using agile methodology and enterprise design thinking, with patient data assured by IBM Security, getting it into the hands of the clinicians who needed it. Fast.

Then we had to tell the story.

Amidst lockdowns and COVID outbreaks around the world, we managed to secure health approvals and remotely manage production crews to tell the stories of clinicians on the front lines in Australia, USA, Japan and South Africa, and the impacts that the solution was having.

“By leveraging this data, we can enhance ICU patient care, improve COVID-19 understanding in doctors and nurses and guide future treatments of the disease.”
